Runners at the start of the Faversham 10k

The popularity of the Faversham 10k continues with 501 finishers in the latest edition on Sunday, won by M40 Noel Sutton (Thanet) in 35min11sec.

There were only eight seconds to spare before Robbie Higgins (Dartford RR, 35.19) crossed the finish line in second place at The Abbey School.

Prominent in the top ten were Dartford Road Runners M40s Jack O’Sullivan (37.16) and Michael Lemon (37.33) and M40 Mark Champion (Istead and Ifield, 38.00).

Maidstone Harriers had Aaron Hughes (M40, 39.22) and Adrian Perkins (M40, 39.27) inside 40 minutes.

Also ducking under that barrier was Steve Parrott (39.50) of Medway and Maidstone.

Leading masters were M50 Kevan James (Ashford and Dist, 38.25) and M60 Dave Thornby (Maidstone Harriers, 41.35).

Highly placed in sixth overall was women’s winner Liz Weeks (Sittingbourne Striders, 37.00). She had a comfortable margin of over three minutes from Hazel Vuvi (W35 Dartford RR, 40.14).

Natasha Dawson (Larkfield, 41.03) completed the podium ahead of Catherine Harvey (Medway and Maidstone, 41.56), W45 Anne Fuller (Dartford RR, 42.15) and Sarah Anne Mooney (Larkfield, 42.41).
