'Ecstasy tablet' baby now stable

A BABY who reportedly swallowed an ecstasy tablet is now said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

The seven-month-old girl was taken to a specialist drug unit at St Thomas' Hospital in London after ingesting what is believed to be the Class A drug in Gravesend High Street on Monday evening.

She was originally taken to Dartford's Darent Valley Hospital but then transferred to London and was said to be critically ill. But her condition improved yesterday and she was taken back to Darent Valley Hospital.

Police are awaiting the results of a toxicology report on the baby.

An 18-year old woman is still being questioned by police in relation to the incident.
