Northamptonshire Steelbacks v Kent Spitfires

Persistent light rain and bad light left the Wantage Road covers awash and the players from both sides very much frustrated as Sunday's NatWest Pro40 League Division 2 clash was abandoned at 3.30pm without a ball being bowled.

Though tired and injury-hit from their exertions in Scarborough earlier in the week, promotion-chasing Spitfires will have fancied adding to their three victories against the baselment Steelbacks who have yet to win from six matches.

Kent will be next in action on Tuesday night when they take on Surrey Browncaps at the Brit Oval in a day-night 4.10pm start.

Yasir Arafat, Azhar Mahmood and Justin Kemp again look set to miss out through injury and batsman Neil Dexter may join them if he fails to shake off the edffects of a bruised right shoulder, the legacy of a flying stop on the boundary in Saturday's tense championship finish against Yorkshire.
